Background:
The Special Libraries Division of the Texas Library Association was organized in April 1947 and has had annual meetings since that time in conjunction with the Texas Library Association meetings.

Purpose:
The purpose of this organization is to study libraries, to promote the interests of the libraries and the librarians in special libraries in Texas, and to cooperate with the Texas Library Association.
